Our Accidental Halloween Tradition
The houses on our street were built in the 1920s and 1930s. So, I think it's safe to assume that a lot of our trees were planted back then too. Which means that the trees on our street and in our backyard are enormous.
Pumpkin Pickin'!
We did it, you guys. We went and got pumpkins this year! Nevermind that it was on October 30th, at 4:00pm... but we did it!
5 Tips for Buying The Right Home For Your Family
The beginning of this month marked nine years of living in our little 1929 home. That sounds crazy to me! To think that when we purchased our first home nine years ago, we didn't have any kids, or cats, or clue what we would be doing nine years later!
A Stellar Baby Shower | Shine Bright Little One!
"Celebrate with others" is a phrase that T.J. and I often say to one another as we remind each other that in order to, in the words of Bob Goff, "become more like love", we must celebrate with others.
Manheim Farm Show | Recap
I love that the start of our town's annual Farm Show almost always coincides with the ushering in of Fall. Minus this year when it was like 80 degrees for a few days and we all wanted to die. Because of the transition of seasons, marked with the tradition of visiting the Farm Show on a daily basis, it's become one of our family's favorite things to do each year.
The Birthday Corner | A New Family Tradition
I remember very clearly coming down the stairs on the morning of my 30th birthday, turning the corner from our living room to our kitchen/dining room, and seeing a giant "3-0" and the entire corner of our wall covered in notes and gift cards.
June & Sunny's Fall Capsule Wardrobes
Goals: cut down on laundry, live a little simpler, and buy better things. Keeping in mind that better doesn't necessarily mean more expensive things, but just better -- for me and my family.
Back To School Giveaway!
Here's the deal my friends: it's not fair that us grown-ups don't get new backpacks, notebooks, books, journals, and clothes this time of year. Right!?!? I mean, I'm 100% okay with not having gym class anymore, taking tests or worrying about getting to class on time, but still... have you seen all the cool back to school stuff these days??
The Lake Must-Haves
If you've been watching our IGTV Daily Life shows, you're probably aware that it's been raining, for like two months straight. And we're so over it. But a few weeks ago was 100% sunshine, and we happily took advantage of that by heading up to spend our afternoon at Mt. Gretna Lake.
6 Tips To Take Better Photos of Your Kids
I think we can all relate to the desire to take better photos of our kids. Whether that's so we can frame them on our walls, share them on Instagram, or just have them as keepsakes in our camera roll, taking impressive photos of your kids can be so much fun and so magical!
The Farmers Market | Family Time
One of our favorite things to do as a family is shop at the local farmer's market that is open on Tuesdays. Not only can you get some of the best prices and freshest food in town while you're there, but it's also such a fun experience for kids
Encouraging Creativity In Your Kids (Mermaid Art Camp)
There are a few things I believe in with my whole heart: that there's no such thing as too much iced coffee, that encouraging creativity in your kids will never be a waste of time, and Jesus. And that The Office is the best show of all time.
Happy 4th of July!
The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. Growing up, it was a time that family traveled from all over the country to spend a few days here in Pennsylvania with us --- having picnics in the backyard, spending our days in the park, and our nights watching fireworks from quilted blankets.
Words Will Never Be Enough
And when you spend so much time with someone you love it's hard to accurately describe all the things that person makes you feel. You want to use all the adjectives, all the emojis and you want to apologize for all the ways you didn't love them well…
T.J.'s High School Playlist
I was an "emo-kid" in late high school and through college so, today I am sharing with you a few songs and pictures from those days that bring back so many memories.
May Your Life Be Full, Not Busy
Too many people wear busyness as a badge of honor, as if busyness = success, or busyness makes it okay to not make room for the best things, verses all the things.
Snow Days & 3am Prayers
I was praying to my "genie-Jesus" begging for everyone else to make adjustments, and change, and wear their big girl pants (literally), but not asking for actual help, joy, or strength for myself. "Hey everyone else! Feelings update: you change, cause I'm too tired too. Ok? Cool thanks bye."
Welcome Sunny Grace!
Sunny is such a delight. She's looking more and more like June everyday, yet the two of them are almost nothing a like as babies.
