We traveled to Southern California this January to visit family, go to Disneyland + spend some much-needed downtime! We also visited T.J.'s childhood home + elementary school.

Disneyland was... you guessed it --- magical. It was the first time any of us had been there and it didn't disappoint.

We spent three days at Disneyland earlier this month and it was totally magical....exhausting, but magical! It was so fun to watch our little June experience some of the magic she’s seen in the movies.

In case you missed it, earlier this week Brooke and I announced that we believe the Lord is asking us to lay down the t-shirt side of our business.  After fighting that feeling for a while, we are finally laying it down…

If you had told me this time last year that my brother and his family would be our actual next door neighbors come Christmas, I would have laughed. Not because that wouldn't have been amazing, of course!

The houses on our street were built in the 1920s and 1930s. So, I think it's safe to assume that a lot of our trees were planted back then too. Which means that the trees on our street and in our backyard are enormous.

We did it, you guys. We went and got pumpkins this year! Nevermind that it was on October 30th, at 4:00pm... but we did it!

The beginning of this month marked nine years of living in our little 1929 home. That sounds crazy to me! To think that when we purchased our first home nine years ago, we didn't have any kids, or cats, or clue what we would be doing nine years later!

If you find yourself in a situation where you need to lay something down, maybe it's time to pick something up - like a bag of flour, a box of old paints or a notebook. You never know what the Lord will do with that time.

It's during the more difficult times of motherhood that I like to look to my 10 favorite verses for Moms. I hope that these are as encouraging to you as they are to me! I've also included wallpapers for you to download for your phone.

"Celebrate with others" is a phrase that T.J. and I often say to one another as we remind each other that in order to, in the words of Bob Goff, "become more like love", we must celebrate with others.

I love that the start of our town's annual Farm Show almost always coincides with the ushering in of Fall. Minus this year when it was like 80 degrees for a few days and we all wanted to die. Because of the transition of seasons, marked with the tradition of visiting the Farm Show on a daily basis, it's become one of our family's favorite things to do each year. 

Jesus tells us time and time again in scripture how to be more like Him. He tells us to be courageous, forgiving, slow to anger. But we’re like children: we need to practice.

I remember very clearly coming down the stairs on the morning of my 30th birthday, turning the corner from our living room to our kitchen/dining room, and seeing a giant "3-0" and the entire corner of our wall covered in notes and gift cards.

Goals: cut down on laundry, live a little simpler, and buy better things. Keeping in mind that better doesn't necessarily mean more expensive things, but just better -- for me and my family.

Here's the deal my friends: it's not fair that us grown-ups don't get new backpacks, notebooks, books, journals, and clothes this time of year. Right!?!? I mean, I'm 100% okay with not having gym class anymore, taking tests or worrying about getting to class on time, but still... have you seen all the cool back to school stuff these days??
