Hands down, one of my favorite ways to slow down and connect with the people I love is around the table. Food brings people together in ways that almost nothing else can. But, if you're one of those people who thinks "Ahhh hosting is the worst, I'd have to cook a bunch of food!" I'm here to tell you that's just not the case. There's this magical little secret, my friends, and it's called a charcuterie board. You literally don't have to cook anything. Can I get an amen?!

Many of my favorite moments or holidays include a charcuterie board. Recently, I’ve started making my boards even more memorable thanks to Emerald® Glazed Walnuts. Have you ever tried them?! They’re delicious, sweet, crunchy, flavorful—all the good things!

It's so much fun to put together a charcuterie board or, as we call them, “snack trays,” because there's always something for every guest around the table. I mean, who doesn’t love to pick and choose what they want to fill their plates with?!

A few weeks ago, I shared a quote on Instagram about how our lives are not meant for productivity but instead for relationships.

"We are not here on this vast green earth to get stuff done. We're not here to power through a to-do list, to bask in our sense of accomplishment, to wield a perfectly-organized spice rack. No. We are here for one thing, and one thing alone: each other." -Erin Loechner

<insert all the tears, right?!?> It was something that really resonated with me and with y'all, which I was so grateful for. Because it's always my hope that anything I share on my blog, or Instagram, will encourage, educate, and/or inspire you. That it will be a starting place for us to connect or for you to feel more equipped to do life with others. Because, after all, that's what we're really here for!

WHAT TO INCLUDE (This is a list for inspiration, so you do you!)

  • Apples

  • Pears

  • Clementines

  • Grapes

  • Figs

  • Blueberries

  • Blackberries

  • Strawberries

  • Raspberries

  • Crackers

  • Cheeses

  • Assorted Meats

  • Fig Jam or Honey (to add onto crackers and cheeses)

  • Emerald Glazed Walnuts (I used walnuts, but Emerald Glazed Pecans would be great too!)

HOW TO:

I start by lining the center of my table with different sized cutting boards or cheese trays. Then I place a few bowls in varying sizes along those trays and fill the bowls with things that will have a hard time staying on the trays -- like berries, nuts or piles of crackers. Then I fill in with the sliced fruits, cheese, and meats around the bowls. Top it all off with a few fruits sliced in half as decoration (that most people end up eating by the end of the night!) and a handful of fresh flowers. It's so simple and so enjoyable.

I hope this inspires you to have some people over and enjoy connecting with the ones you love around your table.
