Want to know what T.J. and I are drinking around the studio most days? THIS. The best, and easiest, iced coffee of all time. We are big iced coffee drinkers... but that can get pricey when you're going to Starbucks like 8 times a day. Especially if you go to the Starbucks inside a Target, then you're bound to pick up a few Dollar Spot items and that gold goat figure you've always needed. Suddenly you're spending $45 on a cup of iced coffee which you'll have chugged by the time you reach your car in the parking lot. And that's no good.
So! Here is my favorite iced coffee recipe. Make a pitcher for your family after church or to help you get the most out of your studying session.
You'll Need: (These are the brands I prefer, but feel free to swap out for what you love!)
- Starbucks Mocha Coffee (brewed to desired amount and strength)
- Half & Half
- Real Maple Syrup (Not the cheap Aunt Jemima stuff) Medium or Dark Amber is fine.
- Uhm, Ice.
It's really that simple. Pour chilled coffee over the ice. Add desired amounts, to your taste, of cream and syrup. The maple syrup simply acts as a natural sweetener that's easily dissolved into the coffee! It's delicious. Sometimes I'll pour my syrup first so I can really see how much I'm adding and don't get carried away at the end... not that I'm speaking from experience or anything.
If you don't love cream in your coffee, consider Soy, Almond or Coconut Milk. Or if you really want to make it delicious, use the Chocolate Almond Milk. SO. GOOD.
