A Man & His Chicken Sandwich

The world is a less amazing place today with the passing of S. Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-Fil-A.

I never had the fortune of meeting Mr. Cathy but that didn't deter him from being one of the most influential people in my life.  Five years ago I read his book "Eat More Chikin: Inspire More People" which allowed me to peek into the incredible life that this man built for himself with hard work, determination and trusting God.  As a young business man I have always been inspired by how Chick-Fil-A does business.  Not only do they have one of the most delicious products in the world, but they also serve it with happiness and love.  I have been to a lot of Chick-Fil-A restaurants up and down the east coast and I never leave disappointed, especially when I am anywhere in the South!  I am always greeted with a smile, comfortable atmosphere and an incredible product.  It doesn't get much better than that.

I am so thankful that Truett lived the way he lived and lead the way he lead.  Truett loved serving people and food.  He took those two things and built Chick-Fil-A!  It doesn't matter what skills you have or what you are passionate about, if you give it to God you will be blown away by what He can do with it.  I am sure that Truett sometimes felt that way about his Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich and all it was able to accomplish... and continues to accomplish.

I leave you with two of my favorite quotes from a great man in hopes that he can inspire you as much as he has inspired me.

“No goal is too high if we climb with care and confidence.”

“It is when we stop doing our best work that our enthusiasm for the job wanes.

We must motivate ourselves to do our very best, and by our example lead others to do their best as well.”
